The Valparaiso High School girls’ soccer team shut out the Brickies of Hobart in a 5-0 game to kick off the sectional round of the state tournament.
Leading the way for the Vikings was Grace Withrow, who tallied two goals and two assists. Kaylee Pullins, Jana Banschbach and Amy Martin each scored a goal. Gabriel Hinding (2) and Lauren Reineke (1) each added an assist for Valpo.
The Vikings are now 14-3-1 (6-1 DAC) on the season.
