On their home course at Sunset Hill Farm, the Valparaiso High School Girls XC team was narrowly defeated by Chesterton High School. This is no ordinary course, Valpo has one of the most challenging courses in the conference with a lot of hills and turns. It was a narrow win by only 5 points; Valpo's score 32 fell just shy of Chesterton's 27.
Taking 1st place for the Valpo team was Alison Mundell with a time of 20:06. Taking 2nd was Katelyn DeVries with a time of 20:16. 3rd for the team and 6th overall was Tricia Joll with a time of 21:08.

Next meet for the VHS Girls XC is September 13, 2011, a 3-Way against LaPorte and Merrillville. The meet is away and will be held at the Merrillville High School. Race starts at 4:30 pm. Come cheer for Valpo Girls XC!
