VHS Volleyball Roundup vs. Michigan City

Valparaiso High School faced off against Michigan City at the VHS Gym on September 3rd.

The Varsity squad had several contributions from several different players, but ultimately fell in three sets to the Wolves. Michigan City won the first match 25-23, Valpo won the second 25-20. In the tie-breaker match, the Wolves pulled away 25-18. Valpo had strong contributions from Jordan Snapp, who had 15 kills, 3 solo blocks, and 2 block assists. Alli Hauser and Tarrah Lasky lead the Vikes with 19 and 17 assists respectively, while Kate Workman led the squad with 17 digs.

The JV team was able to extend their record to 12-1 (3-0 DAC) with a 25-13, 25-16 sweep of Michigan City. Emma Odgen led the way with 7 kills, followed by Emily Nix with 6 and Theresa Kozelka with 5. Alyssa Jones had 17 assists in the match.

The Vikings Freshman team also defeated the Wolves handily, winning by a score of 25-14 in both sets. Taylor Wodds, Mindi Reach, and Natalie Green each had three service aces, while Haley Plothow, Emily Novello, and Jordan Folke each had five digs. The Freshman volleyball squad is not 6-1 (3-0 DAC).
