VU-Webb-Earns-League-Golfer-of-the-Week-HonorValparaiso University junior Peter Webb (Madison, Wis./James Madison Memorial) has been named the Horizon League Golfer of the Week following his runner-up finish earlier this week at Missouri State’s inaugural Twin Oaks Intercollegiate. For Webb, it was his fourth career weekly honor from the league office.

Webb put together a consistent 54-hole effort at Twin Oaks C.C. to finish just one stroke out of individual medalist honors. He opened with an even-par round of 71 on the 6,701-yard circuit, and shot a 72 later on the first day of action to sit three shots off the lead after 36 holes. Webb’s final-round 73 came up just one shot shy of moving him atop the leaderboard, but was enough to push the junior up into joint second place – matching his best career finish individually.

Webb and the rest of the Crusaders return to competition on Apr. 3-4 at the Wright State Intercollegiate, as Valpo looks to defend its team title from last season.
