Weiss Entities welcomed residents at the Lakes of Valparaiso with a community atmosphere for its taste testing event on Tuesday, June 18.
Families living in the community gathered at the Lakes of Valparaiso’s main office area to test out a wide variety of foods. Mylan Rossetti, event organizer with Weiss Entities, describes how important it is for them to host events like this for the communities at both the Lakes of Valparaiso and Prairie Point in Merrillville.
“This is a way for us to get people involved in this community,” Rossetti said. “We’re coming off doing another taste test event in Merrillville. Every month, we put on at least one event for both the Merrillville and Valparaiso locations. We decided this would be a great idea for the month of June.”
Rossetti notes that each food product came from three different places. Attendees at the event were treated to test out delights such as pizza, cookies, chicken, and fries. After trying out everything, those who were taste testing then put a sticker next to their top choice for all four food products.
The event caught the eye of many residents at the Lakes of Valparaiso, such as Don and Karen Sidor, who have enjoyed being a part of this community. Karen Sidor shares that this was an exciting activity that they couldn’t possibly pass up.
“We really enjoy coming to all of the events here,” Karen Sidor said. “Once we first heard about it, we wanted to check it out because it sounded like something really fun. It’s an awesome opportunity for us to connect with our residents as well.”
Don Sidor agreed that it’s a major plus for this community when they have a chance to come together to meet new faces for an event that everyone is looking forward to.
“I think it’s awesome to give the community something fun and different to do after work,” Don Sidor said. “A lot of people came out for this event which is always great to see here. I’m probably the most excited to try the pizza, but I’m sure that I’ll take a crack at everything at least once.”
Another resident who was eager to start the taste testing was Ankur Singla.
“I was most excited for the cookies, although we also had to try out the pizza too,” Singla said.
Singla is fairly new to the Lakes of Valparaiso community. However, he’s quickly discovered how friendly the atmosphere is and the dedication it takes to organize events like this.
“We just moved into this community about four days ago so this is one of the first events we’ve been to here,” Singla said. “I think it’s great to have these events regularly and encourage us to have a good time with our neighbors. It’s such a wonderful opportunity.”
Weiss Entities was pleased that everyone left the event with not only a satisfied hunger, but also smiles across so many faces in the Lakes of Valparaiso community.
