Now and again, we post something to our Facebook page and it gains traction. With likes, comments, and shares pouring in, it’s nice to highlight these positive, community based interactions.
Recently, we asked ValpoLife Facebook followers what house of worship they spent their time at, and the response was amazing! With 166 comments, many were thrilled to jump in and offer up a suggestion of the best places to go. So, without further ado, here are some of the responses we received!
Dawn Thostesen was more than excited to throw her church into the ring and said, “Duneland Christian Living, DCL every Sunday at 10 am! What happens when the sermon becomes a conversation? Awesomeness!
Melissa Harper said, “Living stones in Crown Point - come see how God is on the move!”
Deanna Hrosik brought St. Paul of Valparaiso into the conversation, “I teach and worship at St. Paul church and school.”
Diane Emerick said, “Valley Baptist - they make you feel at home. I love it!”
Erika Butler exclaimed, “Calvary Church is the place to go!”
In addition to those with comments regarding the value their church holds in their hearts, many took the time to share the name of their church, with many being mentioned more than once.
Alicia Graves, LaVeta Stephens, Brittany Arteaga, Linda Valdivia Walker, Libby Nutt, Rachael Harrington, and Samantha Rodgers Toren mentioned Grace Point in Valparaiso as their place of worship.
Michael Beaver, Emily Leitzke, and Ruth Cavanaugh brought up Trinity Lutheran.
Immanuel Lutheran was tagged by Lynn Jankowske, Samantha Wright Harris, Kathy Meier Riffel, Marilyn Mann, and Diana Swets.
Valparaiso Nazarene had quite a few followers as well, with Brenda White Piper, Holly Allison Lonigro, Kristen Noorlag, Glenda Griffin Waldron, and Marie Philpott giving them a shout out.
CrossPointe Christian Church held quite a few followers, as did Calvary Church and many others. The number of positive, influential, community-focused groups in Valparaiso remains astounding.
And some were more than happy to explain how open they were to worshipping, whether they had a place they attended weekly or not.
Linda Saldano said, “Anywhere and Everywhere!”
Throughout the post, people mentioned their churches and houses of worship, but aside from that, it brought to light the positive and guiding influence these organizations have on the city of Valparaiso. Perhaps Ben Lamb said it best when he summed up the value of each of these organizations.
“It’s so awesome that there are so many dozens and dozens and dozens of incredible churches here in our city! What a blessing!”
