Year End Spontaneity

New Years Eve is a bittersweet time. It is a time for new beginnings, new opportunities, and new resolutions that will be maintained for the upcoming few weeks. I normally dream about finally getting 6 pack abs, but normally end up settling for a 6 pack of my favorite adult beverage. The new beginning is a fantastic thing.

As we make the final push towards the end of the year, we all have the ability to look retrospectively. Yes, I haven’t been here this entire year, but I still have had more than a years worth of experience in my 5 months at Ideas in Motion Media, Inc.

Yeah, 5 months is an odd time. Not quite a half of a year, but just enough time to get brainwashed assimilated into the good news train; you can’t brainwash the willing, I guess!

So in honor of my 5 months on the good news train, I will give you my 5 favorite good news moments that I was involved in!

5. One of the questions I get asked when meeting with clients is, “Hey do you drive that cool car around?” Sadly, I don’t, but I still think its wicked cool!!

4. As a horror movie junkie, I have always had an interest in fear and entertainment! Lucky enough, I was able to work with Jimmy Alvarez, Nadia Hatter, and “Zombie” John Jones, to help open one of the best haunted houses, right in our back yard! In only its first year, Amhurst Asylum in Valparaiso was named the No. 11 Haunted house in the Midwest!

3. Business in the Back Yard was a smashing success! It was a really great way to meet new people, connect to businesses, and remind Northwest Indiana that what we do best!

2. Valpo High School Students teamed up with Carlos Rivero and Elena Jambrina of Don Quijote to use the restaurant to raise money for the homeless this year. This annual event is really an inspiration in the area, showing generosity for all in Northwest Indiana. Truly an amazing, and selfless act.

1. Where it all began. Imagine the biggest, bombshell, pop-culture, announcement of Northwest Indiana history? Ok, well maybe not that big of a deal, but to me, this was one of the best days of my career, and the day that everything changed!

That would be my 41% of a year in review. Here’s to 2010 and looking forward to my 2011 year in review!

Happy New Year, folks! I hope it is wonderful, safe, and a gateway to great things!!
