Come out and visit with your local firefighters! The Crown Point Volunteer Fire Department will present its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Sunday, October 6th, 2019 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Crown Point Fire Station, 126 N. East St. Fire Prevention week is October 6th-12th this year, with the theme “Not every hero wears a cape. Plan and practice your escape”.
Hot dogs, chips, popcorn, beverages, and desserts will be available at the open house, which is open to the community. Learn how to protect your family from fire in the EDITH (Exit Drills in the Home) Trailer and build your own home fire escape plan! Kids will be able to take a look inside the fire trucks and ambulances plus participate in hands-on activities. Kids can try on fire gear and participate in the Junior Firefighter obstacle course.
Representatives from Franciscan Health Crown Point, Lake County E-911, and Crown Point Police Department will also have safety booths. Bring your family out to the fire department on October 6th for a fun and educational day!
***East St will be closed from Robinson Court to Clark Street from 9:00 AM until approximately 2:30 PM. Open house guests can still make entry into the fire station and the library parking lot via East street***
