The City of La Porte Park and Recreation Department announces Nature Camp will return to Soldiers Memorial Park this summer. Young naturalists will explore the ecological wonders of La Porte with the experts from Dunes Learning Center. Activities focus on teamwork, observation, critical thinking and creativity. Optional family hike on Friday, August 2, at the Richardson Preserve included with registration. $50 registration can be completed online at www.laporteparkandrec.com or at the Park Office weekdays 8 a.m.-4 p.m. central standard time. This Monday through Thursday program is broken down into two age-based classes.
Class times are below.
Pre-School (ages 4-6) 8:30-11 a.m.
Elementary (ages 7-10) 12:30-3 p.m.
Need-based scholarships are offered to assist youth who may not have the financial means to participate in recreation programs. To apply for assistance, pick up a form at the Park Office.
