Event Information
The VNA Hospice is honored and privileged to serve all who served as a partner in the national We Honor Veterans program. As part of our dedication to veterans throughout Northwest Indiana, we are proud to share that we will again be hosting two Military Stand Downs in 2024.
Inspired by the Stand Downs of the Vietnam era which offered service members a break from combat to tend to personal needs, such as eating a meal or getting a haircut, our events will provide veterans, active duty military, and their families or caregivers with the opportunity to obtain resources, benefits, and other helpful information from 50+ vendors in one, convenient location.
In 2022, we hosted the first Stand Down event in Porter County and served over 121 veterans and their families. In 2023, we added a second event in Lake County, bringing services and resources to over 200 veterans and their families throughout Northwest Indiana. We are pleased to host both events again in 2024, with the Porter County event in June and the Lake County event in November. We are asking the community to join us in serving all who served by sponsoring the VNA Hospice Military Stand Downs.
