With warmer weather on the Region’s horizon, it’s a great time for a motorcycle ride through town while a relaxing warm breeze rustles through your hair. Before mounting the bike and hitting the road though, be sure to make a pit stop at Harley-Davidson of Valparaiso to check out the store's Motorclothes and accessories. Sales and Motorclothes Specialists Ginger Misch and Lynn DeLaurentis are here to help to find the outfit tailored perfectly to any rider. The duo have a wide selection to choose from, including shirts – available in short sleeves, long sleeves, sweatshirts, tank tops, and polos – leather jackets, boots, bandanas, gloves, sunglasses, and more for men, women and children to complete their preferred look. There’s additionally a section for Harley-themed baby clothes and accessories for even the motorcycle brand’s littlest fans.
“We have a wide selection and a very good variety of clothes and accessories to choose from,” said Misch. “Lynn and I have been here and have worked with Harleys for many years, so we know how to help and know what apparel items would best suit you. For example, we know how to adjust glasses so that they best fit you. We can ask if you need transition lenses, if you need smoke lenses, if you need yellow lenses, if you need white lenses – it goes on and on. The best thing is to come to meet us and let us help you find everything that you need.”
In addition to biker staples, Harley enjoys jumping in on fashion trends. The dealership has plenty of fun, colorful items on the racks for this year’s riding season. Bright, flashy hues are expected to be a hit this year, which puts a fun spin on some classic Harley pieces.
“Harley has come out with all kinds of new items, and there’s still the same protocol on protection and what rides best on a bike,” Misch said. “Colors are awesome this year, and we have a lot of the brighter colors. We have some really good oranges, pinks, purples, and browns that we do and they can mix together very well. Of course, the orange is always the Harley favorite.”
The Valpo location also has some fun items unique to the store, so be sure to stop by for specialized items that can’t be found at any other Harley location.
“A couple of different things that we have include our own custom backs on our T-shirts,” Misch said. “We have a new one coming out in the next couple of weeks that I'm really excited about. We also have our favorites – which are our Valpo V back – and then our timeless journey back which is what people rave about and really enjoy. Then, the new one is like an eagle type, more old school, and a little bit more vintage. There's something that's fun for everyone this summer season.”

“I always like to find out a little bit about what their riding is like – if they do a ton of different miles or if they typically ride for shorter times like on weekends or shorter 20-mile type distances. We want them to look the best they can,” Misch said. "Riding gear helps if you’re riding for longer periods of time. We have jackets that fit all your needs – we have ones that are waterproof, skidproof, and vented. One jacket can carry you through the whole season. For our weekend riders who don't always do a lot of miles, we have windproof jackets and things like that. We really want to get to know our customers before we suggest where they want to go with the look and what they need.”
