Guided by its new identity, CoAction envisions the people of Northwest Indiana flourishing regardless of income, ability, or age. This vision propels the organization toward its mission of ensuring that individuals experiencing financial hardships find opportunities, resources, and respect at every turn.

The rebranding effort includes a new tagline, “We Care About Everybody,” which encapsulates CoAction’s core values. These values include a commitment to keeping promises, believing in individuals’ positive intentions, and unwavering dedication to helping others succeed. The rebranding follows a strategic merger between NWICA and Housing Opportunities (HO), which aims to enhance their collective impact in addressing homelessness and overcoming poverty.

Jennifer Trowbridge, President/CEO of CoAction, expressed enthusiasm about the rebrand’s potential to amplify its mission. “By embracing the CoAction identity, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting individuals and families, ensuring access to safe housing, and fostering social and economic wellbeing. Together, we will create communities where everyone can thrive.” Jordan Stanfill, Chief Housing Officer, emphasizes the newfound synergy in addressing community needs. “CoAction represents a shared commitment to resolving and preventing homelessness on a larger scale. Through our combined efforts, we can make a profound difference in the lives of our neighbors.”

Since its inception in 1965, CoAction, formerly NWICA, has been at the forefront of advocating for those in need. As a designated Community Action Agency, Area Agency on Aging, Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC), and local WIC sponsor, the organization assists approximately 50,000 individuals annually.
