Crown Point’s 2024 Car Cruise promises tons of fun every Thursday through September

The City of Crown Point’s Car Cruise is back for the 2024 season every Thursday through September 26. The Car Cruise gives car owners and auto enthusiasts a chance to gather at Bulldog Park to swap stories and enjoy the community together.

The Car Cruise always draws a big crowd from the Crown Point community, with many packing into Bulldog Park to see classic cars preserved by dedicated owners. Some vehicles that make an appearance at the Car Cruise have been preserved by families for generations.

Each Thursday, the Car Cruise begins at Bulldog Park at 4 p.m. Cars will be lined up in the Franciscan Health Pavilion after entering from the West Street entrance. Visitors are welcome to park in both Bulldog Park’s parking lot, the West Street municipal lot, and the Wheeler Middle School parking lot on a first-come first-serve basis. Additional parking will be available for Car Cruise attendees in the Chase Bank parking lot beginning at 5 p.m.

In addition to the cool cars, the Car Cruise taking place at Bulldog Park means attendees can benefit from any of the free events happening in the park, including Crown Point’s Summer Concert Series featuring a variety of local bands, cover artists, and more. The next Car Cruise will feature live entertainment and will take place on Thursday, July 25, where attendees will experience a night of classic rock from I.N.D.Y and The Relics.

Other nights Car Cruise attendees will be able to listen to the Summer Concert Series include August 15, August 29, September 12, and September 26. A full schedule of the bands performing during the Summer Concert Series can be found here.

During the Car Cruise, those attending will also be able to shop from local vendors. While no outside food or drink is allowed, vendors have a bevy of beverages and eats available throughout the event, including alcohol.

While the Car Cruise will take place almost every Thursday at Bulldog Park at 4 p.m., there are a few exceptions. There will be no Car Cruise on July 4 as the City transforms into a patriotic paradise for the holiday. On July 18 and September 5, the cruise will move to Wittenberg Village and begin at normal time. On July 11 and August 1, the cruise will begin at 2 p.m. at the Crown Point Antique Mall.

Interested in participating in the Car Cruise? You don’t need to register or reserve your spot! The Car Cruise is filled on a first-come basis, so get in line at 4 p.m. with your ride to participate. Gates will not open for parking until 4 p.m.

Come join the fun every Thursday at Bulldog Park! Whether you’re looking to show off your auto, hoping to find a piece of history, or just want to connect with your community, Crown Point’s Car Cruise is the place to be.
