The Purdue University Calumet men’s tennis team sustained a 9-0 league loss at Judson University Saturday evening.
The Peregrines fall to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the setback.
Purdue Calumet nearly pulled off its first doubles victory of the season at the No. 1 slot, as sophomores Patrick Mudd (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) and Alberto Monaco (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegia Anchieta) played the Judson pair of Daniel Hendel and Elisha Houghland to a thrilling 8-8 tie in the first set. But the Eagles duo was able to win the 7-3 tiebreaker to take home the win.
Monaco also had a competitive set at No. 1 singles before falling to Houghland by scores of 6-4 and 7-5.
The Peregrines travel to Cardinal Stritch for a 1 p.m. league matchup today in Milwaukee, Wis.
