City of Valparaiso

City of Valparaiso

About

Valparaiso is a growing community located in the northwest corner of Indiana, the seat of Porter County.

Our award-winning downtown gathering spaces and year-round community events provide a thriving and vibrant place to call home. Central Park Plaza, Porter Health Amphitheater and Urschel Pavilion draw our engaged community downtown for signature events, including music concerts, food tastings, movie nights, a vibrant farmers market, and even ice skating in the winter months.

Valparaiso has been recognized with the Great Public Places award by the American Planning Association's (APA) for its 2.5-acre Central Park Plaza, which transformed an underused parking lot into a vibrant gathering space, creating a destination that draws visitors throughout the region.
