"The Valparaiso Parks Department hosted an awesome night of music, food, and entertainment on July 4, 2010 at Thomas Jefferson Middle School. The Conservadellics jammed to their somewhat original tune ""Sweet Home Valparaiso"" and the Valparaiso High School Band offered another awesome performance even as fireworks were being launched. The Valparaiso Parks Department held a Veteran's Day memorial service at Foundation Meadows Park to honor the veterans who have fought and those who continue to fight for our freedom. Doug Klemz, Captain in the United States Marine Corps and a veteran himself, gave a beautiful speech honoring our nation's veterans and World War II Navy Chaplain & Veteran John Wolf gave a benediction prayer.
