Portage Township Live Entertainment Presents a Tribute To Frankie Valli
For the last two years, The Unexpected Boys have amazed audiences all over the world with their award-winning tribute to one of the most recognized bands to ever hit the airwaves… Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The concert will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 7:00 pm in the PHS East Auditorium.
Anytime Fitness to Host Free Community 5K Run & Walk
Bring your friends and family and join us in this Community 5K run and walk. This low keyed, out and back , 3.1 mile course will meander around Country Square Plaza Shopping Center and through Boardwalk and Park Place neighborhoods. With no major hills, walk or run with your friends.
PHS Multi-Year Class Reunion
Portage High School Graduates from 1956, 1961, 1966, 1971, and 1976: A Multi-Year Class Reunion will be held this October 1, 2011 in celebration, including the class of 1961's 50th reunion and the class of 1971's 40th reunion! Come out to Woodland Park from 6:00 pm to midnight for cocktails, dinner, dancing, and fun for $35 a person! Class of 1971: start the fun early with a pre-class reunion event on Friday to catch up with your classmates from 40 years ago!
Howl-O-Ween Pet and Adoption Event
Get in the spirit of Halloween and join in for a spooktacular day of pet appreciation! Animal shelter, rescues, and vendors will be on hand, along with a professional pet photographer. Goodie bags will be available for pets dressed in costume! Free cheeseburger with pet food donation!
Portage Fire Department to Host Open House
Come to the Fire Prevention Open House and see the firefighters at work. There will be games, Water Rescue Team demonstration, fire engines and trucks, ambulance/rescues, station tours and food!
St. Andrews to Host 6th Annual Pet Blessing
Bring your favorite animal and experience worship with all God's creatures. Pets of all faiths, denominations, breeds, sizes, and healthy or ill are welcome. We'll remember the life of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals, with a short service of lessons and a blessing prayer over each animal. Don't miss this special event!
Book and Bake Sale
First Presbyterian Church of Portage, 6225 Lute Road, will hold a Book and Bake Sale on Saturday, Oct. 1. If you love to read or know someone who does, we have lots of gently used books waiting to find a new home. Hardbacks will be $1.00 and paperbacks will be 25 cents.
Neighborhood Greek Fest
Join us for a Neighborhood Greek Fest on Saturday, October 1st. here will be Lamb, Greek Chicken, Shish-ka-bob, Gyros, & Greek Pastries. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.
