Gluten Free Education and Awareness Seminar
Join Wiseway for a free Gluten Free Education and Awareness Seminar in conjunction with GFPC (Gluten Free in Porter County) on Saturday, August 27, 2011, starting at noon at the Chesterton location. Representatives from companies that create gluten free products will be on hand to discuss their products. There will also be a gluten free pizza demonstration using products from Wiseway’s own organic department.

Thursday, August 25 through Saturday, August 27, 2011, the public is invited to stop by and learn more about the heritage of Firestone racing.
ARTour Coming to Downtown Chesterton
The Chesterton Art Center and local businesses will be hosting ARTour 2011 on Saturday, August 27 from 10am to 3pm. Local artists will be showing and demonstrating their work at various businesses in the downtown area, as well as at the Westchester Twp. History Museum and the Chesterton Art Center. Many of the businesses will offer special incentives and offers during this year’s ARTour.

Valpo Parks First Annual Night Ride
Valpo Parks is excited to offer a fun-filled event where you can tour the City by bike….at night. On Saturday, August 27th, the Valpo Night Ride will give people the opportunity to take a leisurely 15-mile bike ride through Valparaiso starting from the Old Fairgrounds Pavilion and hitting major sights like Rogers-Lakewood Park, the new Central Park Plaza, and Valparaiso University.
2011 Day of Caring
The Day of Caring is the United Way's annual event that celebrates volunteerism. Nonprofits throughout NWI post projects online for your company, church or civic group, etc. to complete on the Day of Caring. Portage Christian Church's Annual Rummage and Bake Sale
This Saturday, August 27th from 8am-3pm, Portage Christian Church will be hosting their annual rummage and bake sale. Clothes for all ages, household wares and lots more. Sale is indoors. Stop by for some great bargains and enjoy some homemade baked goods!
Vale Park Road Cleanup Day
On August 26th the city of Valparaiso will be teaming up with citizens to participate in the Vale Park Road Cleanup Day. The event will be in partnership with the Day of Caring. The cleanup will involve the removal of litter and recyclables from the ground and separating them for pick up, and also the removal of several different kinds of invasive plants that are growing in the area.
