Greenhouse and Nursery Managers to Learn About Growing and Selling Native Plants

Purdue-ExtensionPurdue University Cooperative Extension Service and the Northwest Indiana Floriculture Association will co-sponsor an educational program for people in the nursery and greenhouse business on Thursday, January 12, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST in the banquet room at Gelsosomo’s Pizzeria, 2605 Laporte Avenue, Valparaiso, Indiana.

On Jan. 12 the program will begin with a pizza and salad buffet dinner, provided by Gelsosomo’s Pizzeria. After the dinner, James Potthoff, District Forester for Kankakee Fish and Wildlife Area, and Chairman of the Northwest Indiana Cooperative Weed Management Area, will present information for plant sellers and nurseries about native plants for region gardens and landscapes. The cost of dinner is $15.00 per person, payable in cash at the program. Preregistration before Jan. 10 is required.
