On Sept. 29, 2017, Life Care Center of Valparaiso, Indiana, hosted a rehab reunion for former patients who had completed their rehab over the last year.
Fourteen of these rehab graduates attended the event, which took place in the main dining room with a Stars of Rehab theme, complete with stars, balloons and photo ops. The facility catered the meal from a local Italian restaurant, serving vodka chicken, tortellini caprese, breadsticks, salad, cupcakes, tea, lemonade and coffee.
“It was great to see so many of our patients doing so well independently at home,” said Karen Corneil, occupational therapist assistant. “It gives meaning to the work that we do.”
