Spring Break = Fun at Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County

Open-the-Door-Take-the-TourBoys & Girls Clubs of Porter County joins thousands of Clubs across the country in celebrating the GREAT Futures that begin inside our doors, highlighting the impact our Clubs have on the community – and most importantly – on our children during National Boys & Girls Clubs Week, March 23 – 29, 2014.

This year, Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County will be showcasing their quality after-school program, focusing on education, health & life skills, sports & recreation, as well as on-the-spot fun activities, during Spring Break. Not only are fun activities planned for the community members to join this week, but each Club will be offering a KidsCamp from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM for those families that will be home during Spring Break.

This should be a most exciting celebration,” states Ryan Smiley, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County. “We plan to showcase to our communities the rich diversity of programs and benefits our Clubs provide to young people and their families. Also, we know that not everyone travels during Spring Break, and it is our commitment to provide quality activities for children when they are not in school.”

Each Club has a host of fun activities and programs for KidsCamp participants, as well as community members including: Sports Days, Community Service Projects, Fitness Challenges, Art Projects, and FUN! KidsCamp will open at 6:30 AM until 6:30 PM at our Duneland, South Haven, and Portage Unit; and Kidstop will be operating KidsCamp at our Valparaiso Unit during the same time. Club hours during this week are 11:30 AM until 5:30 PM; with our Duneland Unit hours operating from 1:30 PM until 5:30 PM.
