Valparaiso’s First Responders to Recognize 9/11

The City of Valparaiso’s first responders – Police Department and Fire Department – will host a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at Foundation Meadows Park, 3210 Campbell Street on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at 10:00 am. city-of-valparaisoThe ceremony will include a Pledge of Allegiance, led by Cooks Corners Elementary third graders who will be escorted to the park by the Valparaiso Fire Department Honor Guard. The ceremony will include an invocation by Reverend John Albers of Faith Memorial Lutheran Church, a presentation on the history of 9/11 by Cooks Corners Principal Thomas Wisch, a tribute by Mayor Jon Costas, and music culminating in God Bless America led by the third graders.

The public is welcome to recognize this important day, honoring the sacrifices made on Sept. 11, 2001 and the sacrifices first responders continue to make each day.
