Many agencies and experts were on hand at Earth Day 2012, including Steve Martinson and Ben Ringling of Valparaiso Parks Horticulture staff, who promoted home gardening at 2012 Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 21. During the event at the Porter County Expo Center, they gave away 950 Tomato and herb plants to the public. Steve and Ben were available all day to answer questions regarding plants and the environment.
