Volunteers Needed for Porter County Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

Volunteer Bell Ringers are needed at The Salvation Army Red Kettle sites throughout Porter County. Kettles are staffed Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. until Thursday December 24th. A group or organization of 12 volunteers can cover a kettle site for an entire day, with each person ringing for just one hour. All income from these kettles stay in Porter County to help our families in need for Christmas and throughout the year. Thank you to all the volunteers that have already stood like South Haven Lions Club, Valparaiso Police Chief and Fire Department, Sheriff Lain and the Sheriff's Department, The Salvation Army Women's Home League and many others.

The sites include Al's Supermarket, Bass Pro Shop, Big Lots, Duneland Resale Shop, J C Penneys, Jewel/Osco, Kmarts, Portage 16 Imax, Walgreens and Walmarts.

There are 20 bell ringing stands available in Chesterton, Portage and in Valparaiso. If you can help cover an entire day or donate two hours to help, please visit our website www.saportercounty.org or call 762-9191 (or 242-6159) and talk with Claudia of Porter County Salvation Army to volunteer. Special Notice: When Advisories from the Weather Reports are announced, we may pull kettles in during that time. Please call in advance to confirm.
