Valparaiso University hosts its 11th Annual Event to benefit Children’s Miracle Hospital Networks

With more than 70 academic majors, Valpo is known for its blend of liberal arts and professional schools. Offerings include an honors college; engineering, nursing and business colleges; a meteorology program; and exciting arts programs.

When Homer Drew was 8 years old, he would see the older kids outside playing basketball and scramble out there to play with them. He got knocked around a bit, but he loved it, and it was the beginning of a life-long love of the game. Son Bryce followed in his footsteps, with the help of his older brother pulling him along. Dance Marathon is a nationwide movement involving college and high school students at more than 250 schools across the country, all raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in their community. It founded on the idea that all children need and deserve comfort, treatment, and hope in the face of illness and Valparaiso University believes that Dance Marathon is not just a philanthropic campaign, but a celebration of life.
